Today is Part II of The Newcomers Guide to the Park Cities and today we’re talking about what every dad needs to know. We brought in our friend, office neighbor, and all-around amazing dad, Ryan Scripps to give us the scoop on how to get involved, meet friends, and where to take your spouse for date night.
Today’s episode is dedicated to one of the Park Cities’ most beloved fathers, Chris Murzin who lost his life on February 11. Chris was a dedicated father of three, husband to Christina, and a community leader whose influence on our community will be felt for years to come.
Chris was a huge advocate for those with disabilities including his son, Jack. Because of his passion for helping those with disabilities, Chris made it his mission to make sure we had a park that was inclusive for all. Chris played an integral part in rebuilding Coffee Park as the first accessible park in the Park Cities. Because of this amazing accomplishment, Chris was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award in 2008 for University Park. He always had a smile on his face and loved wearing crazy socks and a bow tie and will be missed dearly.
